This past Friday Indianapolis lost a woman who in many ways added a whole lot of sparkle to this lovely city. Philanthropist Marilyn Glick passed away from cancer at age 90. Although I have never met Marilyn or her husband Eugene it is impossible to drive around Indianapolis and not see the impact that the couple has made.

On Saturday Jax and I enjoyed a wonderful early morning walk on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, a legacy of Marilyn and Eugene.  The air crisp and the ground dewy, I couldn’t help but to stop mid stroll for a moment and reflect. I hope to live a life of generosity and make a positive impact on my community the way the Glick’s have done. Downtown Indianapolis truly is a more beautiful and livable place due to their sincere charity.

Ralph Stickman once said, “What makes greatness is starting something that lives on after you.” With that thought, in my eyes, Marilyn Glick will forever be a great lady!

Check out the article featured in the IndyStar about Harrison College and their ties and commitment to collaboration and family spirit.  The first paragraph dives into the office space and the amazing design by Rowland:

“Even the workspace it has occupied for about five years in Downtown Indianapolis was designed to be welcoming, and appointed to favor conversation, idea-sharing and teamwork.

“People from outside (the college) get off the elevator and say, ‘Wow! This is fantastic,’ ” said Mark Apple, associate director of public relations. “It’s very bright, very open, very fresh.”

Booths reminiscent of a diner dot the space where mingling is encouraged. The well-lit area has a vibrant, contemporary color scheme.”
