Rowland Design worked with WTHR in the late 1990’s on the design of their reception, lobby, and green room spaces. When it came time for a refresh last year, WTHR again turned to Rowland Design for a modern update.

The goal of the project was to create a clean, bright, and contemporary space, reflecting the company’s status as a regional communications leader. The new space blends a New York City vibe with a Los Angeles aesthetic, creating an impactful “wow” first impression to visitors.

Eliminating outdated elements from the 1990’s plan allowed for a complete redesign of the reception desk and surround. The design accommodates today’s work methods, while keeping security a focus.

Elements reflecting the WTHR brand and the company’s commitment to the local community are incorporated throughout. Our team reinterpreted the previous lobby artwork with a custom, large-scale illuminated design piece branded with WTHR and NBC iconography. A local graffiti artist was also commissioned to create a unique two-story wall mural depicting iconic Indianapolis landmarks.

Additionally, the entire space is enhanced with custom lighting and signage.
