IUPUI Kelley School of Business

Indianapolis, Indiana

Rowland Design had the opportunity to design for Indiana University’s renowned Kelley School of Business at IUPUI not once, but twice in recent years. In late 2010, the Kelley School of Business on the IUPUI campus was scheduled for renovations to coincide with updates to the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) located just across from the hall. The business school’s dean was so impressed with the successful design of IUPUI’s Honors College, designed by Rowland Design, that he engaged in discussions with our design team to provide the required interior design services for his school. Upon conclusion of the schematic study, the project was put on hold. It resurfaced in 2013 with the Kelley School of Business to relocate to a new setting on campus. Again, Indiana University employed Rowland Design to create a new residence for the program. Project goals this time included improved visibility, brand identity, and overall functionality. Working within the confines of the allotted square footage of the new location, our designers created a plan with increased meeting and collaborative spaces, faculty offices, and an open lobby that allowed for students to hang out. Glass was utilized to create the required transparency and openness. The environment was branded utilizing Indiana University crimson and cream with added pops of color.
