University of Louisville Freedom Park
The University of Louisville’s Freedom Park is the site of The Playhouse, a theater, and a city-owned late-19th-century monument to fallen Confederate soldiers. The University’s plan for the park is to develop an educational component on it’s grounds highlighting Kentucky’s role in the evolution of civil rights. Rowland developed a signage and wayfinding package which will help the University reach it’s goal. These new signs are integral in helping Freedom Park and U of L represent the diverse campus community and the power of the Civil Rights Movement.
