Park Place on Main
Located in the same building that is home to Louisville’s Slugger Field, the Park Place Restaurant’s interior was out of sync with the vision of its new executive chef. A color palette of chocolate brown and spring greens emphasize the use of local produce in tandem with the artwork that is a tribute to the vegetable. Many of the original features of the space were left in place as a nod to the past, but given new context by adjusting balance and color. The belt-driven ceiling fans and tin ceiling have more prominence in the more lightly colored space. A series of acrylic paneled walls divide the space into flexible and intimate dining niches. These areas contract and expand easily to fulfill guest requirements. A thoughtful lighting program for the dining area and bar further enhance the calm and inviting space that lets the chef’s culinary talents shine through.
