With the vision in mind to bring together advanced treatment technology with abundant patient amenities, Rowland Design began by changing a former restaurant into a surgery center and spa facility.
A medical spa occupies the two-level north wing. Accessed from the main lobby, clients enter an environment of inviting curvilinear and elliptical shapes. Selected for both aesthetic and practical reasons, the shapes designate the client’s entrance into places of relaxation and comfort, while interrupting direct sight lines into treatment areas. This project won the IIDA’s 2008 IDEA Award for Healthcare Design and was featured in the Architectural Showcase edition of Healthcare Design magazine.
