Located in Broad Ripple, Joy’s House is a not-for-profit day care for adults and a haven for their families. This ambitious renovation and expansion has resulted in tripling its size while remaining sensitive to the original farmhouse architecture and neighborhood bungalows. Though not registered with the US GBC, LEED silver guidelines were used throughout the design and planning process. The residents participated in the process wherever possible. A state of the art kitchen, dining areas, library and a variety of lounges with new furnishings make Joy’s House a comfortable and inviting place, as well as an enhanced garden and other features which reduced maintenance and enhanced sustainability.
